Gastroenterologist
Dr. Hoan Tran is a Bay Area native. He earned his medical degree from UC Davis and completed his internal medicine residency at Loma Linda University, where he was recognized as Resident of the Year. He went on to complete a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the State University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo.
Practicing since 2011, he did one year of private practice in Reno, Nevada, and a 7–year hospital–based practice in Chico, California, where he was the GI Clinic director and GI Medical Board director. He returned home to San Jose to join SJGI private practice for 3 years and now a solo practitioner.
Dr. Tran specializes in general gastroenterology and hepatology, with advanced expertise in endoscopic mucosal resection, IBD, hemorrhoid treatment, and chronic liver diseases such as hepatitis B and C. He performs colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, capsule endoscopy, and hemorrhoid banding.
Fluent in English and Vietnamese, Dr. Tran enjoys snowboarding, hiking, paddleboarding, and spending time with his family.
